Low-Carb sugarfree energy drinks, Acesulfame K, and Sucralose(Splenda)

Question from a forum member:

Do sugarfree energy drinks still cause you to "crash"? Are Acesulfame Potassium and Sucralose (Splenda) considered Low GI?

NO - you won't "crash" from Acesulfame Potassium or Splenda with moderate intake. And by moderate intake, I mean, I personally, wouldn't advocate drinking stuff with these in it everyday. There's no humanly viable reason why any one food product should have two different artificial sweeteners blended in them, but I know that there is for taste "masking" reasons, and other unworthy reasons. Since they both pass through the body without getting digested, there is no nutritional value, no break-down, and thus, no register on the glycemic metabolic index. So,YES, they are low to the point of non-existence. These two artificial sweeteners are both 0 on the GI. Of course, you do know that the fact that Acesulfame Potassium is about 200 times sweeter than sucrose is a reflection of it's threatening inorganic properties to the body when consumed, right? This is an indicator of it acting as a catalyst for side effects, IF consumed in excess. I strongly suggest not to drink anything with aspartame in it(it's dreadfully acidic). Only drink the blends that have your two compounds in question. Just because it's the lesser of the two "evils". I believe (in all relativity) that Acesulfame K is the better of the two by far. The crappy thing is, that I guess most food/drink makers mix sucralose(splenda) with Ace. K to mask different aftertastes. My advice in terms of building an argument to your friend is this: consider the fact that Acesulfame K is stable under heat, and including at a variety of mixtures, (medial PH levels), thus that is why it can be used in baking. This is unlike aspartame, which is the only artificial sweetener that matches its level of sweetness. This ability reflects the more stable chemical components it is made up of and thus, potential for being far "superior" to others at minuscule to moderate levels.

How to start your own bank

Ever wonder how to prepare to receive a government bailout? Start your own bank, guy. First, recruit a large group of college graduates who can't find jobs. Next, collectively and individually apply for business grants, and raise as much money as you can. You can also do this by encouraging your future business partners(fresh recruits) to ask their mommies' and daddies' for some fat dough; in fact, you better focus on college graduates that seem to have more funds, and consequently, access to funds that they otherwise wouldn't. That way you can raise your need for venture capital(cash reserves) faster. Then, rent or buy a large brick and marble interior building on the corner of any street located in a commercial zone of a high income per capita city; preferably Norfolk, Nebraska. On second thought, better just go with any city in South-Eastern Florida. That way, you can function as a state chartered bank without being a member of the Federal reserve system. Next, spend a few weeks coming up with a somewhat devious marketing campaign, a very boring name, and also, and a memo that exudes your special services, which will help the recruitment of an adequate amount of impressionable customers by enticing their interests. Some examples are, but not limited to: not holding and freezing a customer's money that he or she deposited over 24 hours ago for phenomenally mystic security reasons. Or actually giving bank members a gesture of grace once in a while by not charging them multiple overdraft fees over $30 if they happen to bounce a check, and other details that result in/overly harsh penalties. When some business entity mistakenly withdraws a fee from ones account without screened authorization, hell maybe you'll just give them a break on that one too, huh?Hahahaha. These would definitely be qualities that other banks just can't seem to come through on. Of course you would word that proposal differently on paper. Ha. The marketing will be however, the embodying heart of your actual business plan, but maybe not the main part of it, which will be, of course all the things that the state needs to hear/see, in order to approve your application. The other part of the plan would include such things as policies that will reflect how you operate your bank, and how your employees conduct business, etc. Then you can pass the inspections when the state agency comes to examine your operation. Finally get the license stuff out of the way, bribe local legislators to get their endorsement, and design the interior and exterior signs with the utmost authenticity. Use either gold, or some color scheme that screams either conservatively rugged, or sophisticated, finally buy some laser pointers at any dollar store, cheap rotating cameras, recruit attractive females to at least pretend like they bank their to entice more customers. What am I talking about? They do bank there(open them an account) Vault? Just cut the marble floors with a super sawzall, and heave the cash under the tiles that you have cut into squares in the back rooms. Then, just lock the doors, and nobody will ever suspect. Now give a bunch of people high-interest loans, and finally, wait for your bottom line to crumble before collecting a bail-out check from the Gov, instead of them simply taking your company over. Because your special, gosh darnit and your Gov loves ya.

Omega 3 Philosophy

I wanted to figure out what the best choice of basic Omega fatty acid sources, and supplements was, and try to extend my research as far as I could, in the name of Health. In my quest to find the optimal way to supreme fatty nutrition and supplementation, I found that basically, it may be a much narrower road in picking your prime source of Omega Fatty Acids, due to some hindering factors in between origin and absorbtion, I've come up with solutions to counter some negative affects, as well as a basic overview explanation of Omega 3 sources to balance out the approach in this realm.

Dynamics of Flaxseed Oil

Flaxseed Oil is an extremely abundant source of APA and LA, and you should seek out the right Flaxseed Oil supplement for you if you can convert efficiently.
However, in some cases, due to the theory that if your body is deficient in the production of the enzyme d6d, is makes the conversion of ALA/LA into EPA/GLA next to impossible. If you suffer from Inflammatory diseases, such as diabetes, chances are you might not produce sufficient d6d. Mind you, this is JUST the specific type of ALA found in Flaxseed Oil that I'm talking about here. In this case, look to all the others sources of the three Omega 3s'- ALA, EPA, DHA.

DHA: The scarce Omega 3

DHA is found in human brain tissue, however we do not generate any after birth. I believe that Fish Oil is the most optimal source of DHA. It is cheaper than eating fish all the time. Dispite the hypothetical claim that suggests the molecular structure of Omega 3 is altered when using heat to extract the Fish Oil from the Fish, it is untrue because even if this was happening, the human cell would reassimilate the compound through metabolism.

Fish & heavy metal toxicity

The FDA has conducted studies that found that the top 30+ most popular brands of Fish Oil tested significantly low for levels of heavy metals. This is because these companies use molecular distillation processes that filter out these heavy metals(i.e. Mercury). This is different from eating fish itself because there's no way to take out the metal from the whole fish in tact. The smaller the fish, the less chance it will contain heavy metal, or the less heavy metal it will contain.

Fish Contaminants

Pollutants that contaminate Fish, i.e. PCBs and Mercury, are mainly manifested in Bigger(predatory) fish, such as Swordfish, and Albacore Tuna. I suggest limiting your consumption of these types of fish. Remember, the smaller the fish, the lower the risk for heavy metals, and contaminants. Examples of small fish are Mackerel and Anchovies. Ultimately, I recommend to take fish oil supplements and/or eat fish as frequently as you can. To balance out the potential consumption of adverse compounds, you should consume extra antioxidants, such as Green tea, Black tea, Berries, Red wine, Cacao(found in organic dark chocolate) tomatos(especially sun-dried), Prunes, and many other fruits and vegetables. In addition, I recommend the following compound:

N-AcetylCysteine - This is an Antioxidant/heavy metal detoxifier, which can be found in supplemental capsule form.

Basic Omega 3 conversions(R=Ratio): ALA(R=15%)> EPA(R=5%)> DHA
This means that for every 100 mg of ALA you consume, it is being coverted into 15 mg of EPA, and so on. This being said, Fish Oil is a direct way to get your DHA

I have came to the personal conclusion that the minimal amount of EPA an adult should consume a day is 350 mg of EPA, and 200 mg of DHA. The only way to completely avoid the risk of consuming contaminants, is to seek out the Vegetarian alternative for DHA, which is Algae derived Oil. This is an organic oil blend from Algae that has been cultivated by Biotech labs, such as Martek Biosciences Corp., who also make products to mix into beverages, including baby formula.

Recommended Prime Sources of Omega 3:

Walnuts
Nature's Bounty Fish Oil(Walgreens)
Vitamin World Omega 3
Fish+ extra antioxidants
Vegetarian Algae DHA Oil
DC Certified Organic Flaxseed Oil (Dee Cee Laboratories Inc.)

Considering other Omegas: special Omega 6 - Borage Oil

GLA(Gamma linolenic Acid) is a great compound for Inflammatory conditions, and SKIN health. It is found at one of the highest concentrations in BORAGE OIL. If you have Arthritis, or a dry skin condition, it may treat these conditions. Borage Oil is about 24% GLA on average.
